Shepshed based car and motorcycle parts and accessories reseller, Shepshed Auto Spares (SAS), has been acquired by one of the largest automotive parts and accessory distributors, Alliance Automotive Group UK Ltd (AAG UK).
SAS was setup in 1999 by Directors; Tim Prescott, Spencer Parker and Rob Hooper. As well as its flagship Shepshed site, SAS also has branches in Tamworth and Matlock employing over 100 staff with sales of circa £9.8m.
Tim said: “SAS has been in business for twenty years. Myself, Spencer and Rob have thoroughly enjoyed the journey but felt the time was right to sell our interests. AAG are one of the largest automotive parts distributors so I know our staff and customers will be in safe hands moving forward.”
AAG UK Ltd has over 200 locations across the UK within its group. The business is currently going through a sustained period of growth having made a number of strategic acquisitions within the automotive parts sector.
Advising on the deal was BHW Corporate and Commercial Partner, Ed Nurse. Ed said: “SAS have achieved incredible growth in their twenty years of business. It was a pleasure to act for one of the region’s success stories and to help ensure a suitable deal was achieved for Tim, Spencer and Rob.”
Tim added: “Ed and his team provided straight forward and timely advice on our business sale. The support received helped us to make informed decisions on our requirements for the deal as it progressed.”
