Buying a house is said to be one of the most stressful things anyone can do.

The Land Registry are trying to change this by making information from Local Searches available alongside the title register for solicitors to access online. This will create a central search register which should speed the search process up. When carrying out a Local Search on a property, it can take weeks for the results to come back which slows down the whole conveyancing transaction.

There are seven local authorities taking part in testing the central search pilot. This will take place until the end of December 2013, when a decision will then be made as to whether this service will become available nationally.

If the service does become available nationally, hopefully buying a house will become a much quicker process. Regardless however, our Conveyancing team at BHW Solicitors do as much as they can to speed matters up and make the process as stress-free as possible.
