Folk 2 Folk, the award-winning Peer-to-Peer lending platform for rural and local business has chosen BHW Solicitors to become a Professional Partner as part of The Local Lending Movement initiative.
Formed in 2003, Folk 2 Folk helps create and sustain financially and socially successful local communities. Empowering local businesses requiring debt finance by matching them directly with investors through its Peer-to-Peer lending platform.
Folk 2 Folk launched The Local Lending Movement in January (2018) as part of its mission to help build and sustain socially and financially successful rural communities across the UK.
The Local Lending Movement aims to create ecosystems on a local level that facilitate rural business growth. By bringing together not only Lenders and Borrowers, but also all interested parties including legal and accountancy partners, local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships, surveyors and land agents, leisure and tourism platforms, interest groups, community associations, business groups and banks, Folk 2 Folk hope to help facilitate the long-term prosperity of our rural and local communities.
Partner and Head of Commercial Property at BHW, Bev Merrell, said “Having worked with Folk 2 Folk for some time now we are delighted to become a Professional Partner. We have strong links within the rural and agricultural community and we think The Local Lending Movement is an excellent initiative.”
The Local Lending Movement will be built around local Chapters, the focus of which will be Folk 2 Folk’s high street branches. A launch of local Chapters will occur in due course and further branch openings are planned for 2018.
