Kate leads the Real Estate Finance team and has over 19 years of experience working with a number of lender on investment, owner occupied and development transactions for real estate, including offices, hotels, development sites, retail and industrial properties.
Acting for a variety of lenders, Kate is able to provide practical and tailored advice on transactions and associated risks. Working to tight timeframes to meet repayment requirements of borrowers and contractual deadlines, Kate benefits from repeat lender instructions and is known for her responsiveness and efficiency.
Kate’s clients include HSBC, Cambridge & Counties Bank, Handelsbanken and NEXA Finance.
Kate specialises in secured lending as well as handling all other aspects of commercial property including freehold acquisitions and disposals, and new leases and renewals of business premises for both landlords and tenants.
Work highlights include:
- HSBC – Refinance of a multi-let garden centre and retail site.
- Cambridge & Counties Bank – A portfolio refinance of 28 properties.
- Handelsbanken – Refinance of a 50-bed property used for student accommodation and a mixed-use building incorporating 8 retail units and 35 apartments.
- NEXA Finance – Development finance on two residential sites for the same developer. The timescales were tight as contracts had already been exchanged before funding was sought. Since completion, Kate has been instructed on the refinance of a third site for the same borrower.
- Advice to a lender client on the validity of existing security.
