The East Midlands’ Chamber Annual Christmas Lunch is one of the highlights in the Chamber’s events calendar. Held in Leicestershire, it brings together organisations from across the region to celebrate the year’s achievements.
This year’s event took place on Friday 7th December 2018, where Bev Merrell, Ian Sanders, Paul Davis, Alex Clifton and Emma Marston from BHW hosted a table at the annual Christmas Lunch.
The event was held at the impressive and recently refurbished, Winstanley House in Leicester and luckily BHW were on table 1 – right at the front! On BHW’s table were representatives from Boolers, SFB Group, Sansom Hamilton Chartered Surveyors, BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency and William Davis Homes.
The event was very well attended by businesses from throughout the East Midlands. Once the initial chatter of who got a decent parking space (!) had died down, Chairman of the East Midlands Chamber, Kevin Harris, opened the event with an enthusiastic speech about the successful integration of the three chambers, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
All guests were then served with a festive three course lunch, complete with crackers, terrible jokes and party hats! Once all guests were fed and substantially watered (!), Sean Collins, a comedian from Canada took centre stage and was surprisingly funny – even if he did take the mick out of the British!
The event, as always, raised money for very good causes. This year’s three chosen charities were Rhubarb Farm, Animal Aid and Hope against Cancer. The charities each received a third share of £3,615.00.
The BHW team and guests all had a good time (some better than others!) and we’re already looking forward to next year!
