The Chambers and Partners directory for 2016 has now been published. The directory ranks both law firms and lawyers based entirely on independent research.
BHW Solicitors is one of only 2 firms in the East Midlands (which includes Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Lincoln and Northampton) which is ranked Band 1 for Corporate/M&A work in the SME and Private Company sector. BHW is also the only Band 1 firm for this work with a Band 1 individual (Ed Nurse, who heads the department).
BHW Solicitors has also been ranked Band 1 for Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Kate Chorley, the Partner who heads the department, is also a Band 1 individual. No other firms in Nottingham, Derby or Leicester have achieved Band 1 ranking, or indeed any ranking, in this sector.
This year there is a single Real Estate category for the East Midlands (last year there was a separate category for Leicester and Surrounds). There are only 10 firms in the whole of the East Midlands ranked for Real Estate work – and BHW Solicitors is one of them. There are a total of 26 individuals ranked for Real Estate work in the East Midlands and 2 of them are BHW Partners (Julie White and Bev Merrell).
For Information Technology there is one category for both the West and East Midlands. Matt Worsnop, Head of IT at BHW, is one of the 19 Leading Individuals recognised for IT work.
